It is really nice that you are thinking to start investing. My suggestion is first to check below:

1. your risk appetite, I mean Highly risk, moderate risk, and low-risk returns will depend accordingly. eg: if you are below 30 age and financially independent you can consider medium to high-risk taker

2. In my view an investment without a goal is unfruitful. So keep a goal it might be anything like wealth creation, tax saving, future education, vacation, car, property ... etc

3. Tenure - time period

after deciding 1,2 and 3 then you can search for where to invest. There N number of avenues to investment,

starting for traditional FD's and RD's to ULIP.

eg: If you am a very low-risk taker and want to save tax - Go for 5 years FD. return will be less. very less considering inflation and tenure 5 yrs - moderate. interest is taxable but 100% invested amount is safe (ideal scenario). 

Next question: How much?

again depends on the avenue selected

if you go for mutual funds minimum of 500 I guess in SIP Mode. for Lumsum it will depend on the fund you selected less than 5k max funds.

if you go for conventional Tax saver FD it's 10K for a 5 yrs lock-in period.

Next Question: why ??

if you are looking for why to invest - as said earlier it is the objective of investment. I mean goal.

1.    To provide Three days Leadership training  to Government high school students (Telugu medium) @70 per district with contents of Life Skills – Vision & Mission, Goal Setting, Time Management, Living life of purpose, Physical Development, Principles of Human body, Yogasana, Mental Development, Self-discipline, Positive Thinking, Career Development, Social Development, Spiritual Development, National Development, and Human Values

2.    25 "Unemployed Graduates" from each district who are "Non-Alcoholic", "Non-Smokers" and "Self-Disciplined" will be selected and trained in Hyderabad in 7 days residential camp.

3.    After successful training these trainers will go to their district and stay at mandal head quarters and work for 45 days and train 14 schools as a member of "4member team" in the months of December, January, February and March

5.    In addition to above Rs.200 remuneration will be paid for each working day.

6.    For Travelling and Food Rs.100 per working day will be paid

You have sent a mail but have not received any response yet. Find out the reasons  why you are not getting shortlisted here

Fresher: Sends a Mail without a subject

Recruiter: Ok! We are receiving 100's of emails every day and we do not have the time to open your mail and read the content and analyze it. We cannot process your profile

 

Fresher: Sends a mail without body content

Recruiter: If you are interested, can you not spend a minute to write a body. This either shows that you are not really interested in the job or you are in general careless

 

Fresher: Sends mail with a generic subject like "my resume"

Recruiter: We do know that it's you resume but who are you? What position are you applying for? Are you fresher or experienced?

 

Fresher: Sends a mail including the email id's or other recruiters in the "To" List

Recruiter:  You just need a job and sent your mail to all the recruiters and HR's. This is not the right way to send a job email. Send us a separate mail explaining what position you are applying for and why you are interested in our company

 

Fresher: Sends a mail without mentioning the title of the job in the subject line. Example "Applying in your company" instead of "Applying for the post of Software Engineer as a fresher"

Recruiter: We do not have time to open your resume and find out a role for you . We have others who clearly mentioned what they are applying for!

 

Fresher: Sends a mail with unacceptable English in the subject line. For example "I apply to your company and send mail"

Recruiter: You might be a genius but any job in our company needs decent communication skills. Sorry, we are not interested

 

Fresher: Being too desperate in the email content. For example "I can work hard at any location and can work for more than 12 hours a day"

Recruiter: We knew that no one would be interested to work more than 12 hours a day. You are just trying to attract our attention in the wrong way
